Conclude the day with a panoramic view of the scattered farmhouses of the Tonami Plain from a hilltop
About this spot
A park sprawling across elevated ground reached by driving up from Inami town, offering a spectacular panoramic view of the scattered farmhouses dotting the Tonami Plain below. This unique landscape of farmhouses surrounded by shelter belts is celebrated as a representation of Japan's original rural scenery, and at dusk, the fields turn golden. With manicured lawns and walking paths, you can leisurely stroll and enjoy the vistas. It's the perfect place to conclude your day walking through the wood carving town, savoring the lingering atmosphere.
Tips
Free admission and parking available. The road up from Inami town is slightly steep, making car travel convenient (about 10 minutes from town). As elevation increases, the breeze is cooler, so bring a light jacket in spring and fall. If aiming for sunset views, check the sunset time and arrive early.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour required. The soft light of late afternoon and early evening is most beautiful.
