A museum dedicated to the Jomon period, located within the same Jomon Romance Park as the annual lamination museum. The nearby Torihama Shell Midden (鳥浜貝塚) is renowned for its exceptionally well-preserved artifacts, known as the "Jomon time capsule," with exhibits including wooden dugout canoes and lacquerware that vividly convey the lifestyle of that era. The pottery and personal ornaments on display reveal the image of Jomon people living alongside the lake, an impression that resonates when overlaid with the time scale of the annual lamination you just viewed. The park also features a reconstructed pit dwelling, and a leisurely stroll through the grassy plaza is a pleasant way to spend time.
Tips
Just a short walk from the annual lamination museum with no need to move your car. The interior features few changes in level, making it easy to view. Allow one hour for a thorough look at the exhibits, or slightly longer if you plan to explore the outdoor reconstructed dwellings as well.
