Enjoy lunch on the riverside wooden deck and browse unique shops under dappled sunlight
About this spot
A 'little town' featuring wooden decks laid alongside the babbling Yugawa Stream, surrounded by naturally growing Japanese elm (harunire) trees. Buildings connected by the deck house distinctive restaurants, cafes, and specialty shops, with a pleasant atmosphere perfect for a leisurely stroll under the dappled light. With plenty of lunch options featuring Shinshu ingredients and carefully crafted coffee, there's much to enjoy. After your meal, relax on the benches along the stream before heading to the afternoon church visits.
Tips
You can use the parking lot in the Hoshino area. Popular restaurants attract lines during weekend lunch hours, so arriving early or visiting at off-peak times is recommended. The deck has minimal elevation changes and is easy to walk, but being riverside with lots of shade, bringing a light jacket for comfort is a good idea.
Best time to visit
Approximately 2 hours. Having lunch first, then browsing shops afterwards is the most comfortable order.
