Walk the boardwalk through Tashiro Marsh and rest by the shallow, crystal-clear pond
About this spot
A shallow, crystal-clear pond within the marsh about 20 minutes along the promenade from Taisho Pond. Because spring water flows in, it rarely freezes even in winter, and the waterside landscape changes with the seasons. Beyond the pond, Mount Kasumisawa and Roppakunzan spread out, and you can leisurely enjoy the view from the observation spots on the boardwalk. The surrounding Tashiro Marsh glimmers when light enters, with a beauty that makes you want to pause.
Tips
The path from Taisho Pond is mostly boardwalk and flat dirt trail, manageable in standard hiking shoes. Beyond Tashiro Pond, the route splits into a forest course and a river course; the river course is recommended for enjoying river scenery.
Best time to visit
Approximately 30 minutes. The marsh looks beautiful in the morning with no backlighting.
