Leisurely Walk Along Setogawa River Beside White-Walled Warehouses, Admiring the Koi
About this spot
A beautiful streetscape where white-walled warehouses—symbols of Hida Furukawa—line the street for approximately 500 meters. Vibrant koi swim in the Setogawa River that flows at your feet, creating a picturesque scene with their contrast against the white walls. The morning hours see few visitors, allowing you to quietly enjoy the gentle murmur of the river and the swimming koi. Walking slowly along the stone-paved lanes, you'll find yourself enveloped in the serene atmosphere of a former castle town.
Tips
The path is flat and easy to walk on stone pavement. Koi food is sometimes sold at nearby shops. Note that in winter, the koi move to overwintering ponds and may not be visible. A municipal parking lot is available in the area.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1.5 hours. Between 9 and 10 AM, there are few visitors and photography is smooth.
