An exhibition hall where you can experience year-round the world of the Furukawa Festival, also called one of Japan's strangest festivals. Inside are magnificent festival floats that are actually used during the festival, where you can see up close the intricate carvings and metalwork. A video theater showcases the impressive Okoshi Daiko drums, allowing you to relive the festival's atmosphere. Demonstrations of mechanical dolls and other displays reflecting Hida's craftsmanship are also highlights.
Tips
Admission is around 700 yen for adults. Plan your visit around the video theater's screening times for efficiency. Facing the festival plaza, there are restaurants nearby, making it easy to visit after lunch. Parking is available.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1.5 hours. After lunch, from 1 PM onward is ideal for a relaxed visit.
