About this spot
A bridge approximately 150 meters long connecting Nakao Highland and Nabira Highland, and one of Oku-Hida's premier driving view spots. From the bridge, the peaks of the Northern Alps like Shakujodake and Kasagadake loom close, and a refreshing valley breeze blows through. While simply driving across is exhilarating, walking slowly across the pedestrian path allows you to feel like you have the majestic mountain landscape all to yourself. It's easy to stop by on the way back from Shinhotaka Ropeway, making it a popular spot for family photos.
Tips
There is parking space at the foot of the bridge. When taking photos, be careful of passing vehicles. It's about a 10-minute drive from Shinhotaka Ropeway, so it's smooth to stop by on the way down. The valley wind can lower the perceived temperature, so a jacket is helpful.
Best time to visit
Approximately 30 minutes. Photos look best when the light hits the mountains around midday.
