Enjoy panoramic views of Nagoya's cityscape and Higashiyama forest from the 100-meter observation deck with your family
About this spot
An observation tower standing on a hill adjacent to Higashiyama Zoo & Botanical Gardens. The observation deck, reached by elevator in one swift ride, sits approximately 100 meters above ground and, combined with the hill's elevation, offers sweeping 360-degree views of Nagoya's cityscape and the green Higashiyama forest. On clear days, you can even see distant mountain ranges, and children especially enjoy spotting the zoo they just walked through from above. An observation restaurant is also available, perfect for taking a break while enjoying the views.
Tips
Buying a combination ticket with the botanical gardens makes admission affordable and convenient. The tower is located on the hill on the botanical gardens side, so approaching from within the park creates a smooth flow. Since the observation deck is indoors, it's also useful as a rest area on hot or cold days.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes needed. On clear days with clean air, you can see distant mountain ranges.
