About this spot
Japan's largest Korea Town, stretching about 500 meters east-west centered on Miyuki-dori Shopping Arcade in Ikuno Ward. Passing through the gate commemorating ties with Baekje, around 150 shops line the street, from street food stalls selling hotteok, cheese hot dogs, kimbap, and tteokbokki, to Korean cosmetics and K-POP goods shops. The freshly baked aroma of hotteok and the warmth of crowds waving stretchy cheese fills the street like a Korean market. Sharing and sampling various dishes as you walk will make for a lunch that satisfies both stomach and heart. For a group of Korean-loving friends, this is the highlight of the course—you could spend hours discussing your favorite artists and selecting cosmetics.
Tips
About 15 minutes on foot from JR Tsuruhashi Station, and also within walking distance from Momodani Station. Weekends are so crowded that walking is difficult, so for a leisurely stroll, weekdays or weekend mornings are recommended. Most street food vendors prefer cash payment. The etiquette for eating-on-the-go is to eat in front of the shop where you purchased your food and return trash to the shop.
Best time to visit
Approximately 2 hours. Weekends get extremely crowded after early afternoon, so aim for late morning through early lunch.
