View Himeji Castle and the cityscape from the observation point, and enjoy an evening stroll through the park
About this spot
Spread across Tegarayama to the southwest of Himeji's downtown, this comprehensive park offers sweeping views of the city from its hilltop observation point, including a distant glimpse of Himeji Castle's main tower. Besides the aquarium, the park features a greenhouse botanical garden, a memorial tower, and lush walking paths winding through trees and seasonal flowers—perfect for a leisurely stroll. The park is beloved as a cherry blossom viewing spot in spring and serves as a gathering place for the community. After leaving the aquarium, a leisurely climb up the hill at dusk will offer views befitting the perfect conclusion to a day that began at the temple grounds on Shoshazan. Pause on a bench with your friends to reflect on the day's journey.

Entrance to the greenhouse botanical garden requires a separate admission fee. Daylight fades quickly in certain seasons, so enjoy the views while it's still bright.
