A mixed-use commercial facility developed by Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten, an old establishment founded in Hoho 1 (1716) that has long traded in linen weaving in Nara. The name 'Shikasaruko' combines the 'shika' (deer) of Nara, the 'saru' of Sarutahiko Coffee, and the 'ko' of Kitsune, the sukiyaki restaurant Kitsune-ya (㐂つね)—buying, drinking, and dining all under one roof. The Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten Nara Main Shop is lined with craft-based housewares and deer-motif small goods, offering no shortage of souvenir options. At Sarutahiko Coffee, carefully brewed coffee and sweets allow tired feet to rest. Spending the finale of your town walk selecting favorite vessels and fabric goods together with your companion will become this day's most treasured memory.
