Pottery experience options include the pottery wheel, hand-building, and painting on tea bowls and plates. With equipment and instruction from the kiln itself, even beginners can confidently try their hand at creating their own vessels. Your finished pieces are fired in the kiln and sent to your home later, so the memory of your trip remains as a tangible object—a delightful keepsake. The shop displays Shigaraki ware vessels and tanuki figurines in abundance, and a dining facility is also on-site. Tips

Located a bit away from Shigaraki Station; buses are infrequent, so traveling by car is convenient with free parking available. Pottery experiences can be registered for on the day, but weekends can coincide with group bookings, so advance reservation is recommended. Wear clothes that can get dirty from clay and glazes. Fired pieces will be shipped later (separate shipping fee), and the wait adds to the joy of the trip.
