Explore the mountaintop park at 1,212 meters elevation; panoramic views from Boko-dai and Asahi-dai

About this spot

The mountaintop area at 1,212 meters, crowned by Gozaisho Peak which represents the Suzuka Mountains, is developed as an accessible mountain park with well-maintained trails. Scenic highlights include Boko-dai (望湖台), a rocky viewing platform overlooking as far as Lake Biwa, and Asahi-dai Plaza (朝陽台), which commands views of the Ise Plain and Ise Bay. On clear days, panoramic views stretch across the entire horizon. The observational lift from the ropeway station also operates to the summit, allowing small children and grandparents to reach the peak comfortably. With a 10-degree temperature difference from the base, even summer picnics feel refreshingly cool. Spring's red azaleas, autumn foliage, and winter ice-encrusted trees showcase seasonal beauty, letting families experience a cloud-top stroll together.

Tips

Mountain park trails are well-maintained, but the Boko-dai area is rocky, so wear sturdy hiking shoes. The scenic lift (paid) from the station makes round-trip visits easy for grandparents and small children. Shops and restaurants concentrate near the station, so secure drinks beforehand. Mountain weather changes quickly; clouds obscure views, so aim for early morning hours. Bring layers even in summer.

Best time to visit

Approximately 2 hours. Early morning before clouds form is ideal for panoramic views.
