The bright, glass-walled interior, with its warm wood tones, features Sendai tourism information, exhibitions introducing the greenery of the City of Greenery, a shop selling local crafts and souvenirs, and a café where you can relax while gazing at the park's landscape—perfect for gathering information at the start of your trip. The expansive "Oimawaeshi Area" (追廻エリア) with its open lawn is ideal for children to run freely. Close to Sendai Castle Ruins and Kokusai Center Station, stopping here before heading to Yagiyama serves as a wonderful warm-up to experience the atmosphere of Sendai, the City of Greenery, right from the morning.
Tips
About a 5-minute walk from Kokusai Center Station on the Subway Tōzai Line, and just 2 stations by subway to Yagiyama Zoo Station, making the route smooth. By car, use the paid parking lot in Aoba-yama Park. Admission is free, so feel free to drop by for restroom breaks and to pick up drinks. If playing on the lawn, wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 45 minutes. The early morning right after opening is quieter, and you can smoothly continue on to the zoo in the morning.
