Take a Leisurely Stroll Through Wildflowers and Woodlands for a Relaxing Break
About this spot
A rare botanical garden nationwide that showcases wild plants from the Tohoku region, located within the residential area of Yagiyama. Across its approximately 9 hectares, various zones are arranged including alpine plants, aquatic plants, and open lawns, and as you walk through the woodland paths, you'll find yourself pausing at seasonal wildflowers. Unassuming yet charming, visiting here after the bustle of the amusement park makes the quiet atmosphere enveloped in birdsong and dappled sunlight feel wonderfully soothing—perfect for nature observation with children, picking up leaves and acorns. The wild grass garden's unique appeal is the labels on unfamiliar plants, allowing parents and children to discover names together as they walk: "What is this?"
Tips
About 5 minutes by car from Beniyland, or about 20 minutes on foot. The park's many unpaved trails require comfortable walking shoes. The garden is open from spring through early winter; closed in winter, so check opening periods in advance. Consider bringing insect repellent during bug season.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 1 hour. Visit in the afternoon when the dappled sunlight is most pleasant, using it as a cool-down after the amusement park.
