The hiking trail passes right beside the flow, allowing you to feel the water sounds and spray throughout your body. Surrounded by beech and Japanese catalpa forests, the contrast between the white water and tree colors is magnificent during the new green or autumn foliage seasons. Tips
From the Oirase Gorge Museum, head upstream along the road and walk from Ishigato Rest Area. The trail is slippery with tree roots and wet rocks, so wear sturdy shoes. Water spray may reach you, so handle cameras and smartphones carefully.
