At the far end of the hot spring town, the waterfall plunges approximately 22 meters into Shirogane Park with a thunderous roar. This dramatic cascade, which suddenly appears beyond the retro inn district, is one of Ginzan Onsen's symbols. The location offers the luxury of capturing both the inn-lined streets and the waterfall in a single photograph. A well-maintained walking path leads near the waterfall basin, where up close you'll feel the cool air and mist on your skin. The scenic gorge transforms with the seasons, offering views of fresh greenery and autumn foliage. From the waterfall, the Shirogane Park walking course extends toward the Noborisawa Silver Mine Tunnel, making it easy to transition from town strolling to nature hiking.
Tips
Just a short walk from the end of the hot spring town. The area around the waterfall may be slippery from spray, so wear shoes with good grip. The bridge is a popular photo spot—please be considerate of others passing through. If you plan to continue on the walking course, note that there are few restrooms ahead, so use facilities in the hot spring town first.
Best time to visit
Approximately 30 minutes. Morning light filtering through the gorge makes the waterfall mist shimmer beautifully.
