Bishamonnu Lake is the largest of the "Goshiki-numa Five-Color Lakes," a representative area within the hundreds of large and small lakes and ponds created by the eruption of Bandai Mountain. The water's color, influenced by volcanic minerals in the lake bed, shifts dramatically from emerald green to cobalt blue depending on the light, season, and viewing angle—a true jewel created by nature. From the observation point, the rugged profile of Bandai Mountain towers beyond the lake, and the contrast with the blue-green water surface is breathtakingly beautiful. A rowing boat dock is located by the lake shore, and paddling out on hand-rowed boats allows you to enjoy the mystical colors from an angle impossible from the shore. Located at the eastern entrance to Goshiki-numa Nature Exploration Trail, this panoramic viewpoint is the perfect starting point for Ura-Bandai sightseeing.

Located at the Goshiki-numa entrance in the Bandai Highlands, with free parking and a rest house available. During peak tourist seasons, the parking lot tends to fill quickly during midday hours, so arriving early in the morning is recommended. The path to the observation point is easy to walk, but wear comfortable, broken-in shoes if you plan to venture further along the exploration trail.
