Savor Susuki Nabé and Inaba Regional Cuisine in Folk Art Vessels

About this spot

This kaiseki restaurant was created under the direction of Dr. Yoshida Shoji, who pioneered Tottori's folk art movement, and all dishes are served in locally connected folk art vessels. Known as the birthplace of "Susuki Nabé," said to be the prototype of shabu-shabu hot pot, lunch offerings include a set meal featuring Tottori beef and bounty from the Japan Sea, showcasing the Inaba region's culinary traditions. The dining experience, where vessel and cuisine become one, is truly the practice of "beauty of utility" itself. In the warmth-filled interior of this restaurant, you can simultaneously experience the castle town's food culture and the spirit of folk art—a lunch experience uniquely possible in this city.

Tips

The restaurant is about a 5-minute walk from Tottori Station; from Kannonji Temple, car or bus access is more convenient. Daytime service hours are limited, so arriving early is recommended. The signature Susuki Nabé is best reserved in advance. Takumi Craft Shop and Tottori Folk Art Museum are located adjacent to the restaurant.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. The latter half of the lunch service offers a more settled atmosphere for leisurely dining.
