Understanding how Iwami silver was mined and transported before flowing around the world will help each mine passage and townscape you encounter afterward come alive with meaning. Since buses to the mining district depart from here, this facility is ideally positioned as both your first orientation and operational hub.
Tips
The Omori town center is traffic-restricted, so park your car in the center's free parking lot and travel to the mining district by bus. The exhibit areas are divided into paid and free zones, so plan your time accordingly and view the paid exhibitions first.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour required. The facility is quietest right after opening, allowing leisurely viewing of the dioramas and videos.
