Free Observation Deck at About 150 Meters—Views of the Seto Inland Sea
About this spot
A landmark of Sunport Takamatsu facing Takamatsu Harbor and one of the tallest structures in Shikoku. The observation deck on the upper floors is free to the public, offering views of ferries crossing Takamatsu Harbor below and the multitude of islands of the Seto Inland Sea—Megi Island and Yashima among them—when you look farther out. The panoramic views through the glass can be enjoyed regardless of weather, and at dusk the sea and sky glow in shades of crimson—a spectacular sight. The lower floors house Maritime Plaza with restaurants and shops, so enjoying tea or dinner after viewing is a pleasant continuation. With direct pedestrian deck access from Takamatsu Station, it's convenient for ending your day here.
Tips
From Takamatsu Station via the pedestrian deck, you can reach here with minimal exposure to rain. The observation space is free, so visit without hesitation. The late afternoon hours are especially beautiful, so research the sunset time and plan your visit accordingly.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes. Evening light illuminates the harbor and islands beautifully, making it perfect for ending your day.
