An Animal Paradise - Up Close Encounters with Capybaras and Kangaroos

About this spot

A zoo and botanical garden in Seikai City designed with minimal cages and fences, prioritizing closeness between visitors and animals. The park's star attraction, capybaras, lounge in relaxed herds that you can approach closely to feed, enchanting both adults and children with their endearing nature. In the kangaroo plaza, these gentle animals softly bring their noses toward food in your palm, creating thrilling moments. Other residents include squirrel monkeys, flamingos, and wildlife from around the world, all living spaciously in lush, hillside grounds. As you follow the route—touching, feeding, and gazing at the animals—you experience not visiting a zoo, but rather intruding on "the animals' village." This is the course's greatest highlight.

Tips

The park features continuous slopes with the hillside terrain, so comfortable sneakers are essential. Animal food is purchased at shops within the park, so bring small change for smooth transactions. Remember to bring wet tissues for after feeding. Animals are most active during the cool morning hours, making arrival right after opening the best time for close encounters.

Best time to visit

Approximately 3 hours required. The morning hours just after opening, when animals are most active, are ideal for interactions.
