Stretching approximately 250 meters from Kaminarimon Gate (Thunder Gate) to the Treasure House Gate of Sensoji Temple, this is the iconic temple-front shopping street that represents Tokyo. Long-established shops dating back to the Edo period stand alongside tourist souvenir stores, offering food-to-go specialties like thunder crackers, figurine cakes, and fried buns. On the day of the fireworks festival, people in yukata arrive early and the area is wrapped in a festive atmosphere from afternoon onward. The crowds increase significantly from evening, so it's best to finish souvenir shopping and snacking during this earlier time slot. Leaving your purchases in station coin lockers allows you to move around freely until evening.

1733年を起源に持つ、日本最古の花火大会のひとつです。2026年7月25日(土)19:00〜20:30、墨田区・桜橋下流から言問橋上流の第一会場と、駒形橋下流から厩橋上流の第二会場から、約20,000発が打ち上げられます。2つの会場から競い合うように繰り出すスターマイン・割物・創造花火の数々は空を余すところなく彩り、隅田川の川面に映る光の帯もまた格別の美しさ。川風に乗って届く音の振動、下町の夜空を照らす暖色の光は、江戸から続く夏の風物詩そのものです。フィナーレの大型スターマインが夜空を埋め尽くす約90分間は、この1日のクライマックスにふさわしい圧巻の光景です。
Tips
荒天・強風時は中止または延期の場合があるため、当日の開催可否は主催者の公式発表で必ず確認してください。終了後は浅草・押上方面のすべての駅が大混雑します。終了直後に移動せず、公園や川沿いで30分ほど余韻を楽しんでから移動すると混雑が緩和されます。帰りは最寄りの1駅隣まで歩いて乗車すると比較的スムーズです。

About 5 minutes walk from Asakusa Station via the Tobu Skytree Line, Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, and other lines. On the day of the fireworks, the street is crowded with pedestrians during the afternoon, so take your time snacking and follow the natural flow of foot traffic. Multiple coin lockers are available both inside Asakusa Station and around Kaminarimon Gate; using them early is recommended.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. Early afternoon has fewer crowds than evening, making it easier to snack and stroll.
