Stroll through Kuwana Castle Ruins Water Park, Fully Savor the Waterfront of Ibi River and Moat

About this spot

A park with the character of a water town, built on the ruins of Kuwana Castle and surrounded by the Ibi River and the castle's moat. Stone walls and castle address markers remain within the grounds, allowing you to stroll through the greenery while feeling the echoes of the Edo-period castle town. The sight of trees reflected on the moat's water surface is refreshing, and even under the summer sun, the abundant shade makes for easy walking. The Ibi River where tonight's fireworks will light up is adjacent, and taking in the riverbank atmosphere and terrain during the day will make securing a spot in the evening smooth and easy. The park itself is not large, so you can complete a full loop at a leisurely pace, and the course is easy to walk even for small children.

2026年7月25日(土)19時30分打ち上げ開始、桑名水郷花火大会の観覧です。揖斐川の川面の上空に約10,000発が打ち上がり、広い川幅をいかした大型スターマインや尺玉が夜空を埋め尽くします。水郷の街ならではの川面への映り込みが美しく、花火の光が川の流れの上で揺れる光景は、陸の花火大会とはひと味違う情緒があります。腹に響く打ち上げ音と、川から吹き上がる涼風が夏の夜を演出します。21時のフィナーレまで、1時間30分にわたる大会のクライマックスをゆっくり楽しみましょう。

Tips

荒天・増水時は中止または延期になる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は桑名市の公式発表で確認を。終了後は桑名駅への帰路が大変混雑します。フィナーレ後は少し河畔で余韻を楽しんでから時間差で帰宅するか、徒歩で駅方向へ向かいながら混雑をやり過ごすのがおすすめです。足元が暗い場所もあるため、スマホのライトや小型ライトを用意しておきましょう。

Tips

About 15 minutes' walk from Kintetsu/JR Kuwana Station, or use the bus from the station front. Free admission. On the day of the fireworks festival, surrounding roads become congested from evening onward, so it's reassuring to locate restroom facilities in the park during the daytime.
