The Yura River riverbed is the expansive grassy area that serves as the venue for Fukuchiyama HANABI. On the day of the fireworks festival, many food stalls line up offering yakisoba (fried noodles), karaage (fried chicken), kakigori (shaved ice), and other classic summer festival fare. The local way to enjoy the experience is to secure a spot early in the evening, spread out a dinner purchased from food stalls, and wait for the show to begin. The breeze drifting across the river surface is refreshing, and dusk is a beautiful time to watch the sky's colors change moment by moment. As the fireworks time draws near, lines at the stalls grow longer, so it's wise to purchase food and drinks while it's still light. Also check restroom locations early on.

福知山HANABIは、京都府北部を代表する夏の花火大会です。由良川河川敷から打ち上げられる6,000発の花火は、川幅の広い河川敷ならではのスケールで夜空いっぱいに広がります。川面に映る逆さ花火と頭上に開く大輪の競演は、川辺の花火大会ならではの美しさ。スターマインの連発が夜空と川面を同時に染める瞬間は、この夏最大のクライマックスです。打ち上げ時間は20時から20時45分の45分間で、夏の夜の涼しい川風とともに、丹波の空に咲く光の花を存分に楽しみましょう。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は主催者の公式発表で必ず事前確認を。終了直後は来場者が一斉に退場するため、福知山駅周辺の道路と駅構内が大変混雑します。フィナーレ後は河川敷でしばらく余韻を楽しんでから、時間差での帰宅が快適です。帰りの足元は暗いため、スマホのライトや小型ライトがあると安心です。

Tips

About 15–20 minutes on foot from Fukuchiyama Station. On the day of the fireworks festival, parking lots around the venue fill quickly, so public transportation is the safest option. The earlier you arrive for spot selection, the better your choice—aim for arrival around 5 PM. Be sure to take all trash with you in bags.
