View the Grand Panorama of the Pacific from a 60-Meter-High Cliff Face
About this spot
A scenic spot representing Shirahama, with towering cliff faces stretching about 60 meters high and 2 kilometers long facing the Pacific Ocean. The view of the Pacific extending to the horizon from the top of the cliff is breathtaking, with rough waves crashing dramatically against the rock face below. At the base of the cliff, there is the Sandankabe Cavern (三段壁洞窟), which you can descend to by elevator; inside, you can visit the cave said to have once served as a ship hideaway for the Kumano Naval Force. Visiting in the bright hours before midday makes the contrast between the blue of the sea and the white of the rock face stand out, offering excellent photo opportunities. It is the perfect starting point to experience the scale of Nanki Shirahama's natural beauty.

2026年8月10日(月)20時10分から20時40分、白良浜の沖合から約2,500発が打ち上げられる南紀白浜花火フェスタの観覧スポットです。白い砂浜から正面に広がる夜の太平洋の上空に次々と大輪の花火が開き、波の音とともに迫力ある光と音が浜全体を包みます。南国リゾートならではの温かな夜風の中、砂浜に座ったまま夜空いっぱいに広がる花火を見上げる30分間は、白浜の夏の夜のクライマックスです。フィナーレの連発では浜全体が歓声に包まれ、家族みんなの記憶に残る夏の一夜になるでしょう。
Tips
開催可否は荒天時など当日の状況次第で変更になる場合があるため、大会公式の情報を当日も確認してください。終了後は周辺道路や駐車場が大変混雑します。公共交通機関の帰りの時刻を事前に確認し、終了直後ではなく少し時間を置いてから移動すると混雑を避けやすいです。浜辺は花火終了後に足元が暗くなるため、スマホのライトを活用して安全に。
Tips
About 10 minutes by local bus from Shirahama Bus Terminal, getting off at Sandankabe Bus Stop. Admission to the cavern is 1,400 yen for adults (including entry to the cave). There are railings along the cliff edge, but do not take your eyes off small children. Parking is available in the surrounding area (paid). You can reach Senjojiki via the footpath along the cliff or by car.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. The blue of the sea is most vivid under the bright midday sun.
