About this spot
An experience-based museum themed around aviation, built on the site of Japan's first airfield. The museum houses numerous full-scale aircraft including the Zero Fighter and YS-11, each impressive as you gaze up at them. Participatory exhibits such as flight simulators and the chance to sit in the pilot's seat appeal to children, and you can spend hours without noticing the time pass. The history of the "aviation city" deeply connected to tonight's fireworks venue at Iruma Base should be fully experienced during the day. Since the museum is located within the grounds of Tokorozawa Aviation Memorial Park, you can move directly to park exploration after your visit.

令和8年度入間基地納涼祭のフィナーレを飾る花火大会です。2026年7月22日(水)20時20分から約30分間、航空自衛隊入間基地の広い空に約900発の花火が次々と打ち上がります。基地周辺は遮るものが少なく開けた空が広がるため、花火が大きくはっきりと見えるのが特徴です。打ち上がるたびに響く音と光が夏の夜を彩り、見ている子どもたちから歓声が上がります。自衛隊基地の納涼祭という特別な舞台で打ち上がる花火は、ほかにはない雰囲気があり、毎年多くの家族連れが楽しみにしている地域の夏の風物詩です。
Tips
稲荷山公園駅・狭山市駅周辺など基地フェンス沿いの道路や公園から観覧できます。基地内への無断立ち入りは厳禁。終了後は周辺道路と稲荷山公園駅が大変混み合うため、フィナーレ後は少し時間をおいてから移動するのがおすすめです。荒天時の開催可否は入間基地の公式発表で当日確認してください。

About 20 minutes walk from Tokorozawa Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line or Shinjuku Line, or take a bus and get off at Kōkōen (Aviation Park) Station. Admission is ¥520 for adults and ¥210 for junior high school students and below (regular exhibition). The simulator is popular, so it's recommended to get a number early. There is a rest area and gift shop inside the museum.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. Late morning through early afternoon right after opening is relatively uncrowded, allowing you to enjoy the exhibits at leisure.
