A nunnery associated with Prince Shotoku, adjacent to the Toin Garan area of Horyu-ji Temple. The principal image, a Bodhisattva Half-Lotus Contemplation Statue, is renowned as a representative Buddhist statue of the Asuka period, and its gentle expression is also called the "Mona Lisa of the Orient." The compact grounds create a harmonious garden blending a water-filled pond with a contemporary main hall. Stepping into this quiet space just beyond the bustle of Horyu-ji Temple to encounter the beauty of the Asuka period provides a pleasant respite before the lively fireworks evening.

聖徳太子ゆかりの中宮寺の旧境内跡を整備した歴史公園で、斑鳩町商工まつりの打ち上げ花火の会場となります。法隆寺の北側に位置し、広々とした芝生広場からは遮るものなく夜空を見上げられます。斑鳩の夜空に打ち上がる花火は、周囲の寺社の木立をシルエットに浮かび上がらせ、古都奈良ならではの趣ある光景を作り出します。昼にめぐった法隆寺や中宮寺のすぐそばで、聖徳太子の時代から続く歴史の土地に夏の夜の光が咲く瞬間は、この1日の旅の最高のクライマックスです。

Tips

開催時間は当日の公式発表で確認してください(時間未定のため)。会場周辺の駐車場は早い時間から埋まるため、公共交通機関の利用かまたは早めの到着を心がけましょう。JR法隆寺駅から徒歩約20〜25分。帰りは駅方面に向かう人出が集中するため、終了後は少し時間をおいて落ち着いてから移動するのがおすすめです。足元が暗いエリアがあるので小さなライトを携帯してください。

Tips

Located immediately east of Horyu-ji's Higashi-Daimon Gate, about 1–2 minutes on foot. Admission for adults is 600 yen. As the grounds are small, the time needed is shorter, allowing flexibility for the next leg of the journey. Please follow the on-site guidelines for photography rules.
