About this spot
Located at the border between Minamisanriku and Motoyoshi towns, this is one of Sanriku's representative scenic spots. Waves eroding the ocean created large rocky crevices where waves crash, said to be the origin of the name "God's Cleaved Rock," and it's included within Sanriku Fukko National Park. The contrast between the highly transparent Sanriku sea and dark rocky reefs is spectacular, sure to elicit cheers from children at the spray. Well-maintained walking paths allow you to leisurely stroll the rocky shores and enjoy the scenery. Before tonight's fireworks, feel Sanriku's dynamic nature fully with your entire body.

南三陸町志津川湾夏まつり花火大会のフィナーレは、2026年7月25日(土)19時45分から20時30分まで、志津川仮設魚市場特設会場から打ち上がる約3,000発です。リアス式海岸が生み出す入り江の地形が音を響かせ、湾内の静かな海面が花火を映す、三陸ならではの花火体験が広がります。東日本大震災からの復興を歩み続ける南三陸の夏まつりは、地元の人々にとって大切な節目の行事でもあります。潮の香りを運ぶ夜風の中、空に開く大輪の花火を家族で見上げる45分間は、この1日のかけがえないクライマックスです。
Tips
開始30分前の19時15分頃には会場入りして場所を確保しましょう。荒天時の開催可否は南三陸町の公式発表で確認を。終了後は周辺道路が混雑するため、車での参加は渋滞を見越した帰宅計画を。BRTをご利用の場合は最終便の時刻を事前に確認しておくと安心です。

About 20 minutes by car from Shizugawa town center. Parking available. Rocky areas are slippery when wet, so wear comfortable sneakers. On high-wave days, parts of the walking path may be closed; avoid approaching too closely. Depart for Shizugawa by 5 PM to arrive in time for the fireworks start.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 25 minutes required. When afternoon light strikes the water, the sea's blue is most vivid.
