The omamori stone-throwing ritual transmitted within the grounds is also popular with children, and taking time to try it as a family is a delightful experience. Approximately 30 minutes by car from central Nichinan City, or convenient by taxi from Ibi Station on the Nichinan Line. Admission to the shrine is free. Steep stone steps and slopes lead to the cave, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Restrooms are located near the entrance to the shrine path. During summer afternoons, the sun is intense, so remember to bring a hat and water.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. From late morning through early afternoon, tourists are dispersed, allowing for a relatively leisurely visit.
