About this spot
A waterfront park spreading along the west side of Toyama Shin-ko that also serves as a primary viewing area for tonight's fireworks festival. The park's symbol is the Kaio-maru (開王丸), an important cultural property training ship used for maritime training until 1989. The sight of its four white masts standing against the blue sky is spectacular, and touring the ship's interior (fee required) is also popular. The grassy plaza is spacious and open, and on clear days, you can see the ridge of the Tateyama mountain range across Toyama Bay. Checking the terrain, entrances, and restroom locations during the day will make the evening viewing much smoother. Since crowds converge on the venue from evening onward on the day of the fireworks festival, you can still leisurely explore during this time of day.

開催時間は公式発表で確認してください(時間未定)。荒天時の中止・延期は射水市または大会公式の発表に従ってください。終了後は周辺道路と駐車場の出口が大混雑するため、帰りは時間差で移動するか、シャトルバス・万葉線の利用計画を事前に立てておきましょう。足元が暗くなるためスマホのライトが役立ちます。

Kaio-maru Park is about 5 minutes on foot from Kaio-maru Station on the Manya Line. Touring the Kaio-maru's interior costs ¥400 for adults (prices vary by season). Admission to the spacious grassy area is free. On the day of the fireworks festival, temporary shuttle buses may operate from the evening onward; be sure to check the official Imizu City information in advance.
