A Sōtō Zen Buddhist temple counted among Japan's three great Inari shrines, with the formal name Myōgyō-ji Temple (妙厳寺). It serves as the center of tourism in Toyokawa City, welcoming numerous worshippers throughout the year. The grounds feature many notable sites including the main hall and Reiko-zuka, where countless stone fox statues have been dedicated, creating a unique atmosphere. The spacious grounds can be leisurely traversed, with plenty of shade, making it relatively cool even in summer. 大社神社例大祭煙火（国府の煙火）は、豊川市の大社神社例大祭に奉納される伝統ある花火行事で、地元では「国府の煙火」の名で親しまれています。音羽川周辺から打ち上げられる花火は夏の夜空を大きく彩り、川沿いに集まった地域の人々とともに楽しめる地元密着型の祭礼花火です。都市部の大規模大会とは異なる、神事と一体になった花火の特別な雰囲気が魅力です。川の水面に光が映り込む情景や、夜風とともに響く打ち上げ音を、ゆっくりと全身で楽しんでください。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大社神社または豊川市の公式情報で確認を。終了後は会場周辺の道路が混雑するため、すぐに移動せず少し時間をおいてからの帰宅がおすすめです。足元が暗くなるためライトを携帯し、川沿いでは足元に注意して歩きましょう。

Tips

About 5 minutes walk from Meitetsu/JR Toyokawa Station. Worship at the temple grounds is free. Since Reiko-zuka is located deeper within the grounds, allow extra time for your walk. In summer, it's recommended to hydrate regularly as you tour the grounds.
