Experience the History of the Kaga Clan Through the Ishikawa Gate and Stone Walls

About this spot

Located adjacent to Kenroku-en, this is the former residence of the Kaga clan's Maeda family and is now maintained as a public park by Ishikawa Prefecture. The Ishikawa Gate, designated as a National Important Cultural Property, is distinctive with its lead tiles and white namako (sea cucumber) plaster walls, creating a townscape characteristic of Kanazawa's castle town together with the Hashizume Gate Turret. The vast stone walls are also known as the "Stone Wall Museum" for their variety of construction methods across different eras. The park is free to enter, allowing you to relax on the lawn while soaking in the atmosphere of the castle grounds. Restoration of the reconstructed Ninomaru Goten (Second Circle Mansion) is also progressing, with many attractions to see.

2026年7月25日(土)19時50分から20時50分に開催される北國花火金沢大会（復興支援大会in金沢）の観覧会場です。犀川緑地・石川県営まめだ簡易グラウンド周辺から、約12,000発の花火が夜空に打ち上がります。能登半島地震からの復興を願い、支援への感謝を込めて開催される大会で、会場には特別な思いを持って訪れる人々が集まります。犀川の川面に映る光の帯と頭上に開く大輪の花火が重なる景色は、金沢の夏の夜ならではの絶景です。フィナーレの連続打ちが川と空を一体に照らす瞬間は、この1日のクライマックスです。

Tips

花火大会当日は会場周辺に交通規制や入場規制が設けられる場合があります。大会公式情報および北國新聞の発表を事前に確認しておきましょう。終了後は周辺道路と金沢駅方面のバスが大変混雑します。フィナーレ後は少し時間をおいてから移動する時間差帰宅がおすすめ。足元が暗くなるので携帯ライトがあると安心です。

Tips

You can easily enter from Kenroku-en through the Ishikawa Gate. The park itself is free admission. Internal viewing of the Hishiyagura, Gojukken Nagaya, and Hashizume Gate Turret costs 320 yen for adults. On hot days, resting in the shade of the lawn is recommended. The distance to Omicho Market is about 20-25 minutes by bus or on foot.
