The main hall was built in 1643 in the early Edo period by Soma Yoshitane, with the main hall, treasure hall, and worship hall designated as National Important Cultural Properties. The precincts are surrounded by large cedar trees, creating a tranquil space where even in midsummer the sun's rays are softened. It is also known as the starting point of the annual Soma Nomaoi Festival held in July, and is an essential spot for understanding Soma's history and culture. Walking through the precincts allows you to feel the remnants of the Soma castle-town, offering a peaceful time befitting the start of your day.

The intricate carvings and decorations of the main hall are remarkable, so be sure to view them up close. On the day of the fireworks festival, many visitors arrive from the morning, so visiting in early afternoon is recommended.
