Three samurai residences are open to the public, where you can view period household tools and furnishings. Unlike the bustle of the castle, this quiet, peaceful space invites leisurely exploration. Approximately 5 minutes on foot from Shimabara Castle. Admission to the three public samurai residences is 100 yen for adults (combined ticket). While the spring water is not for drinking, simply pausing to view it provides a sense of coolness. The alleys are narrow; with a stroller, consider using alternate routes. The next spring-water spot is within walking distance.
