Aomori Prefectural Museum of Art, opened in 2006, is a distinctive museum whose striking white building incorporates the excavation site of Sannai Maruyama Ruins. Yoshitomo Nara's outdoor sculpture "Aomori Dog," standing approximately 8.5 meters tall, is recognized nationwide as a representative art work of Aomori and has become a memorable photo spot for countless visitors. The galleries house an impressive collection featuring large-scale works by Shoji Hamada and Marc Chagall, and it's a wonderful place to escape the summer heat and enjoy a cool environment. 2026年8月7日(金)19時15分から21時まで、青森港の青い海公園・新中央埠頭を会場に開催される青森花火大会です。約10,000発という大規模な打ち上げ数を誇り、港の広い夜空に色とりどりの大輪が次々と開く様子は圧巻のひと言。海面に映り込む光の反射が花火の美しさをさらに引き立て、波音とともに楽しむ港ならではの風情があります。青森の短い夏の夜を締めくくる一大イベントとして、地元市民にも県外からの来訪者にも長く親しまれてきた花火大会です。フィナーレの連発が夜空を埋め尽くす瞬間は、この1日の最高のクライマックスになります。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表を当日確認してください。終了後は青森駅方面への帰路が大変混み合います。花火終了後はしばらく公園内で余韻を楽しんでから、時間差での帰宅がおすすめです。青森駅まで徒歩約10分のため、電車の時刻を事前に調べておきましょう。

Approximately 30 minutes by bus from JR Aomori Station, or about 20 minutes by car. General admission for the permanent collection is 510 yen. Adjacent to Sannai Maruyama Ruins, allowing for easy walking access between sites. The museum shop carries original merchandise and is recommended for souvenir shopping.
