Pay your respects at Kamakura's symbol for a safe journey

Just beyond Komachi-dori Street, this shrine has symbolized Kamakura with over 800 years of history. The views from the segmented approach path through the stone steps to the vermillion-painted main shrine embody the essence of Kamakura. From the top of the stone steps, the approach path extends in a straight line toward the sea, building anticipation for the nearby Yuigahama Beach. The shrine grounds offer plenty of shade, making it relatively comfortable even on summer mornings.

鎌倉駅からもっとも近い海水浴場で、2026年は7月1日(水)から8月31日(月)まで開設。遊泳時間は9時から17時までです。遠浅で波が穏やかな約900mの砂浜はライフガードが常駐し、AIカメラによる離岸流の自動検知も導入されるなど、家族連れへの気配りが行き届いています。水質や安全管理などの国際環境認証「ブルーフラッグ」を掲げる、日本を代表するビーチのひとつ。砂浜には海の家が立ち並び、食事や休憩、温水シャワーも利用できます。波打ち際の水遊びから砂のお城づくりまで、夕方まで思いきり夏を満喫しましょう。

Tips

長谷駅または和田塚駅から徒歩5分ほど。遊泳は無料で、海の家の休憩やシャワーは有料です。夏の砂浜は熱いのでビーチサンダル必携。日差し対策にパラソルやテントのレンタルも活用を。遊泳時間は17時までなので、着替えの時間も見込んで15分前には切り上げるのがおすすめ。混雑する週末は午後の方が駐車場が動きやすいものの、公共交通機関の利用が安心です。

Tips

Just a short walk from the north end of Komachi-dori. In summer, don't forget a hat and hydration. Commemorative stamps and amulets are available at the main shrine. Strollers can access near the main shrine via a ramp beside the stone steps.
