View the vermillion torii gates floating in the sea

Daigyo Shrine, standing along the coast of Tara town, is known for its unusual sight of six vermillion-painted torii gates lined up in a straight line from the shrine grounds extending into the offshore waters. Ariake Sea has large tidal differences, and when the tide goes out, you can walk right up to the base of the torii gates. At high tide, the gates appear to float in the water, creating a remarkable spectacle. This mysterious landscape is unique to Ariake Sea with its tidal flats, and it makes a memorable start for children. It's a distinctive beginning to a day in Tara town, where you can experience the atmosphere of the sea before swimming.

佐賀県太良町にある白浜海水浴場は、2026年は7月11日(土)から8月31日(月)まで開設され、遊泳時間は9時から17時まで(潮位により遊泳可能時間は変動)です。入場は無料で、シャワーは3分100円と手軽に利用できます。トイレ(多目的トイレ含む)やシャワーブース、更衣室、休憩所が整い、開設期間中はAEDも設置されているので、小さな子ども連れでも安心して過ごせます。有明海に面した穏やかな遠浅の浜辺は、波打ち際での水遊びから砂遊びまで、家族でゆったり楽しめる海水浴場です。

Tips

駐車場が用意されているので車での来場に便利です。シャワーは有料(3分100円)なので小銭を用意しておきましょう。遊泳時間は17時までのため、着替えの時間も見込んで16時台には切り上げるのがおすすめです。潮位によって遊泳可能な時間が変わることがあるので、当日の状況を確認しておくと安心です。

Tips

You can walk from the shrine grounds to the torii gates when the tide is low, but the ground may be muddy, so wear shoes suitable for walking. During high tide, you cannot approach closely and can only view from a distance. Parking is available near the shrine.
