Historical Walk Through Castle Town Known as the "Little Kyoto of Kyushu"

Obi Castle Town is a historic district in Nichinan City, known as the "Little Kyoto of Kyushu," where samurai residences, stone walls, and white plaster buildings from the Edo period still remain. There are many sights including the ruins of Obi Castle and gardens of former feudal lords' residences, and you can visit multiple facilities with a joint admission ticket. The streets lined with traditional wooden buildings using Obi cedar are characterized by abundant shade, making them pleasant for leisurely walks even in summer. This is an ideal walking course where you can experience the historical atmosphere alongside children as you gaze at stone walls and traces of castle moats.

日南総合運動公園遊泳プールは、2026年は7月11日(土)から8月30日(日)まで、9時30分から16時30分まで営業する屋外レジャープールです。流れるプールでは浮き輪に乗ってゆったり流されるだけでも十分に楽しく、家族みんなでリラックスできます。ウォータースライダーは3基そろい、そのうち青・黄のスライダーは身長120cm以上が対象なので、大きな子どもや大人も爽快感を味わえます。小さな子には水深の浅い幼児用プールが用意されており、はじめてのプール遊びでも安心です。7月13日〜17日と8月25日〜28日は休場となるため、来場前に日程の確認をおすすめします。

Tips

料金は幼児210円・児童生徒360円・一般520円で、見学のみでも有料です。青・黄のウォータースライダーは身長120cm以上が対象なので、事前に子どもの身長を確認しておくとスムーズです。営業終了は16時30分のため、片付けやシャワーの時間を見込んで15時台から遊び納めの声かけをしておくと安心です。休場日(7/13〜17・8/25〜28)は入場できないので、訪問日は事前に確認してください。

Tips

Joint admission tickets can be purchased at information centers and facility windows within the town. In summer, the sun is strong, so it's recommended to bring a hat and drinks and walk during the cooler morning hours. Traditional sweet shops and souvenir stores housed in old merchant buildings are scattered throughout, so taking breaks while exploring makes it manageable for families with children.
