Stroll a seaside flower field to warm up before the beach

About this spot

Hana no Umi (花の海) sits in Numa, Ube City (宇部市大字沼), a short hop from Kiwa-La Beach, with seasonal blooms spreading across an entire hillside. From the breezy high ground you can look out over the Seto Inland Sea (瀬戸内), and the layering of flower field and blue water is superbly photogenic. In summer sunflowers and other blooms hit their peak, and the grounds have walking paths easy enough for small children. Take a short detour before your swim and enjoy an unhurried wander through the flowers.

宇部市岐波にある、2026年は7月10日(金)から8月31日(月)まで開設されるキワ・ラ・ビーチ(岐波海水浴場)です。遠浅で波が穏やかな砂浜は小さな子ども連れでも安心して水遊びができ、潮が引くと潮干狩りも楽しめます。更衣室・温水シャワー・休憩室を備えたマールの家のほか、炊事場やキャンプ場、トイレも整っていて、1日たっぷり過ごせる設備がそろっています。無料駐車場も約50台分あるので、車でのアクセスも便利です。ときわ公園でのお昼ごはんのあとは、いよいよ本日のクライマックス、青い海での水遊びを夕方まで満喫しましょう。

Tips

遊泳は無料、温水シャワーは200円、潮干狩り体験は250円です。ときわ公園から車で約20分。夏の砂浜は熱いのでビーチサンダル必携。着替えの時間も見込んで、切り上げは日没前の余裕を持ったタイミングがおすすめです。

Tips

A few minutes by car from Kiwa-La Beach. The summer sun is strong, so a hat and sunscreen are essential. The grounds are undulating and some stretches are hard going for a stroller, so a baby carrier is reassuring.
