A leading old temple of the Shonai (庄内) region, known for a dragon-deity faith that prays for safety at sea and good catches. As a temple deeply tied to fishing and the ocean, it has long drawn devout worship from local fishermen. The grounds hold an imposing main hall and a five-storey pagoda, and you can pray unhurriedly in the quiet air of the lush green foothills. It is a fitting stop for praying over a day that leads to the sea, and simply walking the grounds offers relief from the summer heat.

鶴岡市の日本海沿いに広がる海水浴場で、2026年は7月18日(土)から8月16日(日)まで、8時30分から17時までの遊泳時間で開設されます。すぐ隣に鶴岡市立加茂水族館が建つ立地で、海水浴の前後に涼しい館内で過ごせるのも魅力のひとつ。トイレや救護所が整い、監視員も常駐しているため、小さな子ども連れでも安心して過ごせます。遊泳はもちろん、駐車場も無料で利用でき、気軽に日本海の海水浴を楽しめるビーチです。波打ち際での水遊びから砂遊びまで、夕方までゆっくり夏を満喫しましょう。

Tips

駐車場・遊泳ともに無料です。夏の砂浜は熱くなるのでビーチサンダルを忘れずに。遊泳時間は17時までなので、着替えの時間を見込んで16時45分ごろには切り上げるのがおすすめです。すぐ隣の加茂水族館のトイレや売店も利用できます。

Tips

About 15 minutes by car from Kamo Rainbow Beach. The grounds are undulating, so with a stroller pick an easy route as you look around. Insect repellent is reassuring in summer.
