Panoramic View of the Sea of Japan from the White Stone Lighthouse
About this spot
A stone lighthouse designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan, boasting the greatest height in Japan. From the observation deck reached by climbing the spiral staircase, you can take in sweeping views of the blue Sea of Japan and the intricate coastline, and on clear days you can see far into the distance. There is also an information display corner at the base of the lighthouse where you can learn about its history. Before heading to the beach, take a moment to confirm the expanse of the Sea of Japan with your own eyes.

出雲市に広がる、日本海らしい透明度の高さが自慢の海水浴場です。2026年は7月10日(金)から8月16日(日)まで開設され、期間中は休憩所やシャワー、トイレを備えた海の家が登場します。波打ち際で水遊びをする小さな子どもから、沖まで泳ぎたい大人まで、家族それぞれのペースで楽しめる開放感のあるビーチです。日御碕や稲佐の浜をめぐった1日の締めくくりにふさわしい、夏の日本海を存分に味わえる時間になります。
Tips
料金は現時点で公表されていないため、現地の案内表示や海の家で確認してください。設備は休憩所・シャワー・トイレが利用できます。夏の砂浜は熱くなるのでビーチサンダルを、日差し対策にパラソルや帽子を持参しましょう。
Tips
The spiral staircase has 163 steps, and it is recommended that small children hold hands with an adult while climbing. The observation deck is often windy, so be careful that your hat does not blow away. There is a parking area nearby.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour required. Early morning hours are relatively uncrowded and easier for climbing.
