A white lighthouse standing on the shore of Mihama Town (美浜町) on the west coast of the Chita Peninsula (知多半島). The view of sea and sky spreading across Ise Bay (伊勢湾) is excellent, and because the ground at its foot is cherished as a matchmaking spot it is affectionately known as the Lighthouse of Love (恋の灯台). The area around the lighthouse is open, with plenty of photogenic views, making it the perfect gateway to a day that builds anticipation for the swimming ahead. It sits on the shore of Mihama Town (美浜町), so travelling by car is convenient. Some of the ground is unpaved, so with a stroller it is reassuring to check the surroundings as you walk. When the sun is strong, do not forget a hat and plenty to drink.
