About this spot

A municipal aquarium in Kashiwazaki (柏崎), standing on the coast overlooking the Sea of Japan (日本海). Displays the whole family can enjoy are well provided, from dolphin and sea lion shows to penguin exhibits and tanks of fish that live in the Sea of Japan. The halls are air-conditioned, which also makes it a well-timed break on a hot morning before heading to the beach. It is close to Kashiwazaki Chuo Beach (柏崎中央海水浴場) and easy to work with as a base for the morning's sightseeing. The layout inside is stroller-friendly, which helps with small children.

柏崎市街地からほど近い、みなとまち海浜公園内に広がる海水浴場です。2026年は7月5日(日)から8月16日(日)まで、監視員配置日に限り9時から16時まで開設されます。脱衣所は2箇所、シャワーとトイレも公園内に備わっており、着替えや汗を流す設備が整っているのが安心なポイントです。遊泳は無料、駐車料金も無料なので、家族連れが気軽に立ち寄れる海水浴場として親しまれています。売店は併設されていないため、飲み物や軽食は事前に準備しておくのがおすすめです。波打ち際の水遊びや砂遊びをしながら、午後のひとときを海辺でゆったり過ごしましょう。

Tips

監視員配置日限定の開設なので、訪れる前に開設日を確認しておくと安心です。売店がないため、飲み物・軽食・日除けは事前に用意を。脱衣所は2箇所のみのため、混雑する時間帯は着替えに少し時間がかかることも想定しておきましょう。営業終了は16時なので、片付けと着替えの時間を見込んで15分前には切り上げるのがおすすめです。

Close to Kashiwazaki Chuo Beach (柏崎中央海水浴場) and easy to reach by car or on foot. Dolphin show times vary by day, so checking the start time on the notices or with staff before deciding your route keeps things smooth. There is also a nursing room and a rest area with baby chairs.
