View a Real Steam Locomotive Up Close in Front of Mōoka Station

A railway exhibition facility adjacent to Mōoka Station on the Mōoka Railway. Historic steam locomotives, such as the Class 9600 that once actually ran, can be viewed closely indoors, and exhibits where children can climb into the cab attract their interest. Due to its excellent location in front of the station, it's perfect for a quick stop before heading to the pool. The facility is air-conditioned, providing a place to catch your breath before the hot day ahead. Even for those not interested in railroads, the impressive sight of a steam locomotive viewed up close can be enjoyed by the whole family.

2026年は7月17日(金)から8月31日(月)まで営業する、真岡市・井頭公園内の屋外レジャープールです。流れるプールでぷかぷか浮き輪に揺られたり、2本あるウォータースライダーで爽快感を味わったり、波のプールで歓声を上げたりと、8種類のプールが用意されています。水深の浅いじゃぶじゃぶ池もあるので、小さな子でも安心して水遊びができます。更衣室や売店が園内にあるため、飲み物や軽食の調達もその場で済ませられます。営業時間は9:00から17:00まで(入場は16:00まで)で、荒天時は休業となる点は事前に確認しておきましょう。
Tips
料金は大人1,600円、高校生1,200円、小中学生・65歳以上500円、幼児(3歳以上)200円です。夏休みの土日は駐車場や更衣室が混み合うことがあるため、午前中の散策を終えたら早めに入場するのがおすすめです。日焼け止めはこまめに塗り直し、休憩は日陰やパラソル下でこまめにとりましょう。
Tips
There is a parking lot in front of Mōoka Station, making car access convenient. On weekends, the Mōoka Railway's SL train "SL Mōoka" sometimes stops at the station, and seeing it as well will delight children. Keep your visit brief and move to Igashira Park by late morning.
Best time to visit
Approximately 40 minutes required. The mid-morning after opening is quietest and easiest to view.
