View Ryukyu's stone construction at the World Heritage castle ruins

A Gusuku (castle) from the Ryukyu Kingdom built in the early 15th century, and one of the World Heritage "Ryukyu Kingdom Gusuku and Related Sites." The curved limestone walls and Okinawa's oldest stone arch gate are highlights. You can climb to the top of the castle walls with expansive views of Yomitan's villages and sea. Since some areas lack railings, it's best for small children to hold an adult's hand. Start your day refreshed while sensing Ryukyu Kingdom's history.

読谷村を代表する海水浴場で、2026年は4月1日(水)から10月31日(土)まで開設。営業時間は9時から18時までです。約2kmにわたって続く白い砂浜と、遠浅で穏やかなエメラルドグリーンの海が魅力で、沖縄本島でも人気の高いビーチのひとつ。更衣室ロッカー(200円)とシャワー(200円)、売店が整っているので、大きな荷物を持たずに気軽に立ち寄れます。波打ち際での水遊びから砂のお城づくりまで、夕方まで思いきり沖縄の海を満喫しましょう。

Tips

残波岬公園から車で3分ほど。ロッカーとシャワーはそれぞれ200円が目安で、小銭を用意しておくとスムーズです。夏の砂浜は日差しが強いので、パラソルや日よけテントがあると快適。営業終了は18時なので、着替えの時間を見込んで余裕を持って切り上げましょう。

Tips

Short walk from the parking lot to the castle entrance. The walls have limited shade, so visiting in the morning is more comfortable. Stone paths can be slippery in places, so wear comfortable walking shoes.
