Cross the Enoshima Bentenbashi Bridge and visit the island's iconic shrine

Just across the Enoshima Bentenbashi Bridge from the aquarium, Enoshima Island is a major Shonan landmark and sightseeing destination. Enoshima Shrine at the island's entrance is an ancient shrine with three sanctuaries (Hetsumiya, Nakatsumiya, and Okutsu-miya), revered for marine safety and matchmaking blessings. The winding stone steps of the approach offer sea breezes and build anticipation for the beach time ahead. Views of Sagami Bay from the grounds are perfect for family photos.

藤沢市の片瀬西浜と鵠沼にまたがる、湘南を代表する海水浴場です。2026年は7月1日(水)から9月13日(日)まで開設され、遊泳時間は9時から17時まで(土日祝・お盆期間の8月8日〜16日は8時から17時まで)。遠くに江の島を望む開放的な砂浜は遊泳無料で、海の家も立ち並ぶため、食事や休憩、シャワーの利用に困りません。波打ち際での水遊びから砂のお城づくりまで、家族それぞれのペースで夕方まで夏を満喫できるビーチです。

Tips

遊泳は無料ですが、更衣室やシャワーは海の家の利用が必要です。夏の砂浜は熱いのでビーチサンダルが必須。遊泳時間は17時までなので、着替えの時間を見込んで16時45分ごろには切り上げるのがおすすめです。

Tips

The Enoshima Bentenbashi Bridge is walkable but lengthy; for young children, a carrier might be more practical than a stroller. Summer sun is strong, so rest in the shade between snacks along the approach.
