Retro Warehouse Complex Telling Tsuruga's Port Town History

This historic structure, built in 1905 as an oil storage facility, consists of a north wing diorama hall and south wing restaurant wing. The diorama hall displays a large-scale diorama recreating Tsuruga's townscape from the Taisho era, helping children understand the history of this port town that once thrived as a gateway to European trade routes. Just beyond the warehouse, Tsuruga Harbor spreads out, offering pleasant sea-breeze-filled walks.

敦賀市・色浜の沖合いに浮かぶ小さな無人島で、2026年は7月11日(土)から8月30日(日)まで開設され、9月5日(土)・6日(日)も渡船が運航します。色浜港から渡船に乗ってしか渡ることができない立地ゆえに開発の手が入らず、コバルトブルーに透き通る海と真っ白な砂浜は「日本のハワイ」とも称されるほどの美しさです。売店やシャワーはなく簡易トイレのみというシンプルな設備ですが、その手つかずの自然こそがこの島最大の魅力。波打ち際でのんびり水遊びをしたり、シュノーケリングで魚を観察したりと、家族で夕方まで思い思いの時間を過ごせます。

Tips

渡船は色浜港から出航し、往復運賃は大人(中学生以上)1,600円、小学生750円(環境美化協力金込み)です。売店・シャワーがないため、飲み物・食事・日除けは事前にしっかり準備を。日陰も少ないのでテントやパラソルがあると安心です。ゴミは持ち帰りましょう。

Tips

About 5 minutes by car from Kehi Shrine. While the diorama hall charges admission, viewing time is short enough to fit into a flexible schedule. Parking areas are available near the warehouse.
