About this spot
Shiga Shrine is located on Shika Island and is said to be the main shrine of all Watatsumi Shrines nationwide, the guardian deity of the sea. It has long gathered beliefs in the safety of fishing and navigation, and in the shrine grounds you can see ema (votive plaques) with pictures of dragons related to sea deity legends. The tree-lined approach is relatively cool even in summer, perfect for an early morning visit. 福岡市東区の志賀島にある勝馬海水浴場は、博多湾側に面した波の穏やかな砂浜で、2026年は7月2日(木)から8月31日(月)まで開設されます。遊泳は無料。夏季はシャワーや更衣室、売店も整うので、手ぶらに近い身軽さで訪れられるのがうれしいポイントです。約300台分の駐車場が用意されているほか、公衆トイレ、ボードウォーク、芝生広場も備わっており、小さな子ども連れでも安心して1日過ごせます。波打ち際での水遊びから砂遊びまで、夕方まで思いきり夏を満喫しましょう。
Tips
夏季以外はシャワーや売店が閉まるため、営業期間中の来場がおすすめです。夏の砂浜は熱くなるのでビーチサンダルを。駐車場は約300台と広めですが、お盆前後の週末は早めの到着が安心です。芝生広場は休憩やお昼寝にも使えます。
Tips
Located near the center of the Shika Island settlement, convenient for car access. Some areas of the shrine grounds are unpaved, so a baby sling may be more practical than a stroller.
Best time to visit
Takes about 45 minutes. Early morning when fewer people visit is recommended for a relaxed visit.
