A representative coastal sand dune formation in Japan spanning 2.4 km north-south and 16 km east-west. The wind-carved ripples and views of the Japan Sea from the 'Horse's Back' landmark ridge are breathtaking. Walking barefoot on the sand lets you enjoy its texture, naturally building anticipation for the beach to come. The cool morning hours see milder sand glare, making it easier for families to walk. 鳥取砂丘のふもとに開かれる海水浴場で、2026年は7月18日(土)から8月30日(日)まで、9時30分から17時までの営業です。遊泳は無料で、浮き輪やレジャーシートのレンタルもあるので手ぶらに近い感覚で楽しめます。更衣室・シャワー・トイレに加え無料駐車場も整っており、砂丘観光とセットで訪れやすいのが大きな魅力。背後にそびえる砂丘を眺めながら泳げる、鳥取ならではのロケーションです。波打ち際での水遊びから砂遊びまで、夕方まで思いきり夏の日本海を満喫しましょう。

Tips

駐車場は無料ですが夏休み期間は混み合うため、余裕を持って到着するのがおすすめです。砂丘の砂は日中とても熱くなるのでサンダルは必携。更衣室とシャワーがあるので着替えも安心です。営業終了は17時なので、片付けと着替えの時間を見込んで16時45分ごろには切り上げましょう。

Tips

Just a short walk from the Sakyu-kaikan parking lot. Summer sand gets very hot—sandals are essential. The Horse's Back roundtrip takes about 30 minutes; families with small children should keep it comfortable.
